BBC Sport - Court rules Button's car is legal
While the verdict is no surprise, it would have destroyed the sport if it had went any other way. The thing I found the most interesting was the quote by Ferrari's lawyer. "Ross Brawn is a man of supreme arrogance." If that isn't sour grapes and a bit hypocritical then I don't know what is. Maybe if they really feel like that then they should give back the championships that Brawn helped them to win.

Wired.com - Google Joins EU Antitrust Case Against Microsoft
Am I the only one that doesn't see what the problem is with Microsoft. Their bundling of Internet Explorer with Windows does not prevent users from being able to load other browsers. It's integration with other applications while annoying is kind of essential. Otherwise it they would have to try and account for every possibility of browser that the user may have installed.
I think the who concept of antitrust is stupid. In my mind there is nothing wrong with monopolies, since they have to remain competitive, for instance if all the supermarkets formed a monopoly, then put their prices up, all a rival would need to do is undercut them to pick up on the sales. In other words, a monopoly will not remain successful unless it fufils the needs of the customer.

BBC News - Dutch MP refused entry to Britain
The government has gone and got itself a big problem in the shape of Geert Wilders who was banned for entering the UK to attend the House of Lords where his controversial film Fitna.
I haven't seen the film, although I will endeavour to watch it given the chance. I also do not understand the full story, what I do understand though is that he would like to see the Quran banned, which I disagree with, I feel that if we can imagine it, it should be committed to media for all eternity. Secondly, I do not understand the backstory, but I do feel that no matter what someones views, they should be allowed to air them, and have debate on them. However, because Mr Willder's views go against that of the establishment, they simply ban him from the country. What a sad sad place we live in.

BBC News - Calls for open source government
I have to admit I laughed when I read this story, especially the quote "Open source does not require you to pay a penny to Microsoft or IBM or Oracle or any proprietary vendor any money." Which would be why the Unix team manager where I work was saying that RedHat was more expensive per machine than Windows.
Where do these people come from, just because Mr. Blogs can go and download Ubuntu for free, I doubt the president is going to want to sit posting requests on forums for help about an error when he is waiting to launch a nuke.
This is the same reason Firefox has never caught on in big business. Yes, it may be free and open souce, but there is no professional support. Where when there is a problem with it, you get on the phone and you have an engineer on the case within an hour.
Open source in this setting is a bad idea, it is one of the things we were told where I work - the myriad of legal issues stemming from needing to reveal your source if you develop around an open source platform, especially if the code is considered sensitive.

BBC News - Plane makes crash landing on the Hudson River in New York.
I'm glad that I wasn't there, it does not look pleasant, on the other hand, it could have been so much worse. It's been said already, but that pilot did a great job to make the worst injury 2 broken legs... Bad, but not the end of the world.
